OBD-II code · Fuel & Ignition
More than one cylinder is misfiring. That points at something shared: fuel delivery, a vacuum leak, ignition power, cam/crank timing, or compression. Driving far can melt a catalytic converter from unburned fuel.
Plug and coil job — all of them ($500–$900): a full ignition shotgun. If the cause is a clogged injector or a timing issue, the misfire continues and the bill doubles.
Typical guess-and-swap cost: $500–$900 (ignition parts cannon) when fuel or timing is at fault
Read per-cylinder misfire counters, verify injector pulse and fuel pressure, compression-test if the pattern suggests mechanical, scope the cam/crank pattern. Random vs. specific-cylinder misfires are completely different diagnoses.
